HARRISON COUNTY, Texas — One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash Monday morning in Harrison County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, around 5 a.m., troopers responded to a crash on Interstate 20, just west of Waskom.
The preliminary investigation indicates a van, driven by Joshua D. Benz, 42, of Grand Saline, was traveling west on I-20 and failed to drive in a single lane. DPS says Benz lost control of the van and rolled over. At the same time, a semi, driven by Kwabena A. Yeboah, 42, of Cumming, Georgia, was traveling west on I-20, crashed into Benz's van and hit a cable barrier.
Benz was pronounced dead at the scene. Yeboah was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
