ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas — One person is dead and another is injured following a wreck on State Highway 63 at the intersection of State Highway 147 on Friday evening in Angelina County.
According to the preliminary investigation, the wreck occurred around 9:25 p.m. on Friday when a Chevrolet SUV was traveling west on Hwy. 63.
"It was reported that the driver was traveling at a speed which was unsafe around a curve and left the roadway to the right and overturned," according to DPS.
The driver has been identified as Earl Knockaert, 79, of Grapeland who was transported to a local hospital and later died.
His passenger was Mary Knockaert, 78, who was also transported to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries.
At this time, DPS is currently investigating this crash.
