MARSHALL, Texas — Marshall police have arrested a man following a Tuesday morning shooting that left one person dead and another injured.
According to the Marshall Police Department, the shooting occurred in the area of Lafayette and East Grand Ave. Police say two people were shot, Markel May, 20, died at the scene. The other victim is recovering at a local hospital.
Curtis White Jr., 18, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deadly conduct discharge of a firearm and murder.
According to MPD, White and the victim knew each other.
"We urge anyone with information to come forward to assist us in this investigation," the MPD said. "Your help can provide crucial details that lead to understanding and resolving this tragic event."
