GLADEWATER, Texas — Two people were arrested Sunday after leading police on a pursuit in Gladewater.
According to the Gladewater Police Department, around 2:50 a.m., an officer attempted to stop a vehicle that ran the red light on Highway 80 and Main Street.
The vehicle led the officer on a brief pursuit and eventually came to a stop on Farm-to-Market 1844. The driver then ran away on foot but was captured moments later.
Police say officers searched the vehicle and found a "large amount" of substances believed to be methamphetamine, an undisclosed amount of cash, several drug paraphernalia items, and items used for packaging and distribution.
Police say Donny Wayne Pittman was arrested for manufacture of a controlled substance, evading arrest with a motor vehicle, and other Gregg County and parole warrants.
