CADDO PARISH, La. — The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office went way back in time for their #ThrowbackThursday post.
The CPSO posted a speeding ticket that led to the arrest of Elvis Presley on April 3, 1955.
While on patrol, the arresting officer spotted a pink Cadillac traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer turned around and began to follow the car for about eight miles at speeds increasing from 65 to 80 miles per hour.
The officer finally stopped the vehicle to find the "King of Rock 'n Roll" was the driver. Presley was taken to the Caddo Parish Jail on a charge of speeding in an automobile at 80 MPH.
Presley posted his $25 cash bond and was scheduled to appear for arraignment on April 5.
