ROCKPORT, TX (KYTX) – A man from Rockport is charged with murder for the shooting death of his wife.
On Monday September 2, 2013, at 12:47pm Officers of the Rockport Police Department were called to 416 East Hackberry Street to check a girl who lived there.
On scene the officers discovered the body of Ms. Skye Harvey, a 20 year old female. It is believed that the victim died as a result of an apparent gunshot wound. The victim's body was transported to the Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office, where an autopsy will be conducted.
The victim lived at address with her husband Andrew Harvey, 21 years of age, and their 5 month old child.
According to information received by investigators, Andrew Harvey had arrived with the child at a relative's home earlier today in Sacul, Texas, located in Nacogdoches County. The relative there was concerned for tSkye and notified a second family member who then contacted the Rockport Police.
The Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office was notified and is assisting in this investigation. Based on information developed both at the scene and in Sacul, Andrew Harvey was placed under arrest by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect is currently is in custody for Murder, and is being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail.
The child is currently in the care of family. Child Protective Services have been notified and is assisting in this case.
This case is currently under investigation.
