HARRISON COUNTY (KYTX) - City officials confirm Hallsville Mayor Pro-Tem was killed in a Monday night accident.
The accident happened Monday night around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 59 South and FM 2625, 5 miles north of Marshall.
A 2015 GMC Sierra, driven by Jake Walker, 68, was traveling west on FM 2625 when he disregarded the stop sign and drove into the path of a truck trailer, according to DPS troopers.
The trailer hit the Sierra on the passenger side.
Justice of the Peace Meagan Pinson pronounced Walker dead at the scene.
Walker's body was taken to Meadowbrook Funeral Home.
The driver of the trailer was not injured.
