ETX man killed during weekend music festival in Arkansas

Arkansas authorities are investigating the death of a Longview man during a March festival.

The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of an East Texas man during the March Flux Festival in Greenbrier, Arkansas.

Austin Dodson, 24, from Longview, was found on March 17 by one of the festival's security personnel, later identified as Anthony Paul Flick.

Flick told a sheriff's deputy he found a man 'asleep on the road.' Soon after, the deputy found Dodson unresponsive and not breathing, and with facial discoloration. Festival attendees performed CPR on Dodson until first responders arrived, but all efforts failed. Dodson was pronounced dead a short time after being transported to a local hospital.

Medical examiners determined Dodson died from strangulation, and investigators found probable cause that the Flux security team's actions resulted in Dodson's death.

Flick, 34, was arrested on March 29 by the U.S. Marshals in Missouri on one count of manslaughter. He is waiting to be extradited to Faulkner County.

The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone that has information regarding this incident to please call Investigator Dane Alred at 501-450-4917 or leave us an anonymous tip by going to CrimeTips.

According to its website, Flux Festivals are held several times throughout the year by "a diverse community that throws music and art gatherings in the beautiful woodlands of Arkansas."
