CUSHING, Texas — A Cushing ISD student involved in a confrontation where officers had to draw their weapons was removed from school property Tuesday morning.
According to Cushing ISD, officers drew their service weapons during the confrontation with the student until the situation deescalated.
No other students were in any immediate danger during the situation, CISD said.
The incident happened on a school property but not in a school building. The situation occurred within four minutes and none of the campuses were placed under lockdown, CISD said.
CISD administrators, the Cushing Police Department, and the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office are investigating this incident.
"The continued safety of our students, staff, and schools is our primary focus at Cushing ISD," the school district said.
