OAKWOOD, Texas — Oakwood ISD announced Thursday they will cancel classes Friday due to a high number of absentees for illness.
The district said 33 students were out sick, many of them with the flu.
The district will use Friday as an opportunity to deep clean areas around the school to prevent the spread of illness.
All athletic events scheduled for Saturday will go on as planned.
