SAN ANTONIO — An East Texas showdown ended with the No. 1 Martin's Mill Lady Mustangs defeating the No. 12 Grapeland Sandiettes 60-56 in the UIL 2A State Championship game in San Antonio before a crowd of 4,672 attendees.
The Lady Mustangs, who ended the season with a perfect 39-0 record, also won the state title in 2018.

Grapeland shot 47 percent from the field (23-49), while Martin's Mill shot 45 percent (23-51). The Lady Mustangs were 3-6 from behind the arc as Sandiettes hit two 3-pointers out of 13. From the free throw line, Grapeland was 8-13, while Martin's Mill was 11-22.
Grapeland's Tiera Jones led all scorers with 17 points.
