TYLER, Texas — The East Texas Food Bank received a $50,000 donation from the rotary club of Tyler to pay for their new repackaging room.
The new room is more than twice the size of the old one and should increase productivity and make it easier to distribute food in East Texas.
"This room like a lot of the other projects that we do with the volunteers is so important because every piece of food that these Texas Food Bank distributes is touched by a volunteer," CEO of the East Texas Food Bank, Dennis Cullinane said.
The repackaging room is one of the main rooms that volunteers work in by packing beans and rice to be delivered out.
The new room is not only more efficient but is also more safe for volunteers.
