Man accused of killing another man at Tyler business following argument posts bond

Witnesses told police Scottie Lee Goble, 54, of Frost, and Heriberto Ramirez, 38, of Tyler, got into a fight which resulted in Goble shooting Ramirez.

TYLER, Texas — Tyler police have identified the victim and suspect in a Friday afternoon fatal shooting.

According to the Tyler Police Department, around 12:15 p.m., officers responded to the 3800 block of the SSW Loop 323 on reports of a shooting. 

Witnesses told police Scott "Scottie" Lee Goble, 54, of Frost, and Heriberto "Eddie" Ramirez, 38, of Tyler, got into a fight, which resulted in Goble shooting Ramirez. 

Ramirez was taken to a local hospital where he later died. 

Goble was arrested and booked into the Smith County Jail for murder. His bond was set at $500,000. He posted bond on Saturday and was released from custody.

Sgt. Jessica Doughten with Tyler PD said the victim was the brother of the owner of Junior's Taqueria, who announced they will be closed for the day while officials investigate.
