MARSHALL, Texas — The Marshall Police Department arrested a suspect in connection to a homicide that occured Monday morning in Marshall.
According to police, a welfare check call was received around 11:40 a.m. to a residence in the 2800 block of Victory Drive.
On the scene, officers found a dead woman who was later identified as Camri Johnson, 26, of Marshall.
The investigation revealed a suspect, Windell Moris Jr., 23, who was arrested on the charges of homicide and abandoning a child.
Marshall Police Detectives, patrol officers, and the investigators continue to investigate this case.
“Our prayers and our thoughts go out to the family members of the victim,” said Marshall Police Chief Cliff Carruth.
