RUSK, Texas — A Cherokee County grand jury indicted a Rusk teen with capital murder after a deadly shooting in 2018, according to an indictment list sent out by Cherokee County Monday.
According to the Tyler Morning Telegraph, Cherokee County deputies found 18-year-old Trevor Lawson dead from a gunshot wound on Nov. 7.
Cody Ray Roberts and Jontae Jamaile Johnson were arrested for the shooting and charged with capital murder, the paper reported.
An indictment list showed Roberts was formally charged with capital murder.
