Lufkin police continue to search for robbery suspect with skeleton mask, umbrella

Officials said the man entered a convenience store on Loop 287 and SH 94 with a revolver. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

LUFKIN, Texas — Police continue to search for a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a convenience store in Lufkin Thursday night.

According to the Lufkin Police Department, a man dressed in a skeleton mask with an umbrella entered a Bigs convenience store at the corner of Loop 287 and State Highway 94 west (103 N. John Redditt Drive).

Lufkin police are searching for a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a convenience store in Lufkin.

The suspect placed a revolver on top of the counter and demanded money from the clerk. He fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

During the robbery, no customers were reported to be in the store and the clerk was not injured, police said.

Police said the suspect's direction of travel is unknown. They also do not know if he left in a vehicle or on foot.

Throughout the night, police patrolled the area but did not locate him.

According to the clerk's description, the suspect is 5’7 to 5’8 tall. He was dressed in a hoodie and gray sweatpants with three black lines down the side of each leg. He also wore a black skeleton mask and black gloves.

The clerk also said he was carrying an umbrella. 

The robbery is still under investigation, police said.
