CORSICANA, Texas — A Harrison County transport deputy is in jail after allegedly assaulting a female inmate, the Marshall News Messenger reports.
According to the newspaper, Transport Deputy Roger "Chilly" Valentine, 53, of Marshall has resigned from his position after reportedly confessing to the alleged crime.
The newspaper reports the Harrison County Sheriff's Office launched their investigation after the alleged victim accused Valentine last week in Navarro County.
The Marshall News Messenger says the Henderson County Sheriff's Office is working with the Navarro County District Attorney's Office to determine what charges may be filed. The Texas Rangers may also get involved in the investigation.
