UPDATE: CHEROKEE COUNTY (KYTX) - Authorities have arrested a suspect wanted for aggravated kidnapping and interference with emergency request for assistance in connection with an assault at a Mt. Selman convenience store.

Today, at approximately 3:15pm officials with Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office received information on a possible location of 23-year-old Trenton Salmon. At 3:40pm, several Investigators and Deputies responded to a residence in the 600 Block of FM-839 in Reklaw (Rusk County) and found Salmon hiding in a residence.

He was taken into custody and is currently being transported to Cherokee County Jail where he will be booked in on the charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Interference with Emergency Request for Assistance.

According to a police report, on May 26, Salmon, assaulted a female in the convenience store, then forced her into a vehicle. He then took away her phone when she tried to call the Sheriff's Office for help.
