SHERIFF: Meth, marijuana seized in Henderson County traffic stop

A K-9 unit was called to the scene to perform an open-air sniff of the vehicle, which yielded a positive alert for narcotics.

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — One man has been arrested after Henderson County investigators seized methamphetamine and marijuana from a vehicle during a traffic stop.

Narcotics investigators conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of E. Quanah Rd. and Spearman St. in the Cherokee Shores Subdivision, according to Henderson County Sheriff's Office. A K-9 unit was called to the scene to perform an open-air sniff of the vehicle, which yielded a positive alert for narcotics.

Investigators conducted a search of the vehicle and located a white shoe box with a large amount of suspected methamphetamine individually packaged for distribution, as well as two ziploc bags of marijuana.

The driver, Robert Martel Moreno, 55, of Mabank, was booked into Henderson County Jail for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance on bonds totaling $100,000.
