SHERIFF: Titus County driver damages commercial building, attempts to hit dog

Investigators said they have reason to believe at the time of the collision, the driver was attempting to run over a dog that was walking in front of the building.

MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas — Titus County Sheriff's Office is searching for a driver who allegedly intentionally damaged a commercial building.

A spokesperson from TCSO said a driver in a black Nissan Ultima pulled into the parking lot of a building on the 2400 block of FM 2348 N. in Mount Pleasant. The driver spent around 10 minutes in the lot before repositioning several times, and intentionally rammed the vehicle over a sidewalk and into a building, damaging both the building and the vehicle.

The vehicle immediately left the scene, TCSO said.

Investigators said they have reason to believe at the time of the collision, the driver was attempting to run over a dog that was walking in front of the building. It is unknown whether or not the dog was hit.
