Cross Roads ISD student accused of writing threat on bathroom stall arrested

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — A high school student was arrested Friday after officials say a threat that was written on a bathroom stall at Cross Roads ISD High School 

Carter Echo, 18, a student at the Cross Roads High School, has been charged with a charge of terroristic threat and he was taken to the Henderson County Jail Friday.

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a threat that was written on a bathroom stall inside at Cross Roads ISD High School Tuesday.

The Henderson County Crimes Against Children Task Force responded to the high school and conducted an investigation. A K9 assisted the sheriff’s office in conducting a search for firearms at the school.

The task force worked closely with the Cross Roads ISD administration. After interviews, Echo was named the suspect. 

On Friday, 392nd District Judge Scott McKee issued an arrest warrant for Echo for the offense of terroristic threat, which is a third-degree felony and carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.

Echo is awaiting arraignment while at the jail.
