WHITEHOUSE, Texas — Seven different Texas schools have qualified for a bowl game this year.
Now if you’re wondering yourself, "how could I possibly see all those games?" try starting at Walk-Ons in Tyler. They’ve not only got big screens, but an atmosphere to match the exciting spirit.
"It’s lively, it’s vibrant right, again, we have over 80 TVs. Whether you chose to watch whatever bowl game, there’s always an opportunity to be able to catch a good game, any bowl game, in our restaurant," said Tyler Walk-On's general manager Vincent Vega.
At Walk-Ons, people can catch any game at any time, but there’s also plenty of benefits to watching a big game at a local spot, like the Montez Creekside Kitchen in Whitehouse.
"We’ve been here from the beginning, ya know, hometown kid, we really support everyone in Whitehouse. And I think that’s what makes it so special. A bunch of people around this town gathering together just coming (around) one interest, watching football, and I think it’s really special. We get really close with all our customers and we make it really personal for everybody," said bar manager Angela Hernandez.
At Montez Creekside Kitchen, they embrace that small-town, hometown feel.
It’s truly East Texans serving East Texas. And while they do pride themselves on a family atmosphere, they’ve also got some fun things planned for Monday night, with the Texas Longhorns playing in the Sugar Bowl.
"People like to watch the football game on their couch with their family, and I would say that we provide that here, we’re a family. And I would say that our staff feels the same way about all of our guests. So I think we’re gonna do some music, order some beer specials, and really get the staff involved. So I think we like to do T-shirts and dress up days, and really make it fun for our guests," Hernandez said.
