(USA TODAY)- Kids these days, with their fleeks and their Snapchats and their prom photos with ravaging tornadoes.

As severe storms and twisters whipped through eastern Colorado Saturday, high school students in the town of Wray readied for prom.

With a tornado spinning about three miles into the distance, students Ali Marintzer and Charlie Bator posed for prom photos to remember the rip-roaring day, Denver's KMGH-TV reported.

One photo shows Marintzer in a dress with her arms around the tuxedo-clad Bator while the storm rages on the horizon. Marintzer snapped and captioned another pic herself: "Selfie ft. Tornado #prom2k16" Marintzer made sure the storm had weakened and moved to a safe distance before having her mother, Heidi, snap the couple's photo, according to the station.

Formal wear and tornadoes are a recipe for virality: A tornado reportedly photobombed the wedding shots of a couple in Canada in 2014.

The prom at Wray High School went on as planned after a 45-minute delay.
