TYLER (KYTX) - CBS19s Gillian Sheridan received the 2016 Community Builder Award from the Tyler Masonic Lodge for her “distinguished service and personal contributions to the Tyler community.”
She was specifically recognized for her years of work with East Texas foster children and her weekly segment on CBS19 called Children are a Gift.
“I am humbled and honored to accept this award on behalf of the hundreds of foster children I have featured to help them find a forever family" Sheridan said. "I appreciate the Tyler Masonic Lodge bring awareness the cause of adoption and foster care. It is truly a blessing to work with these children every week and a great reward to see them safe and loved in their forever family.”
Tyler Mayor Martin Heines also proclaimed March 15 as “Gillian Sheridan Day.”
