(KYTX) - The punishment trial of convicted murderer Bernie Tiede has been postponed.
According to the Panola County Watchman, a judge ruled that the trial will start on April 1 in Henderson. It was previously scheduled for January.
Tiede was convicted of the 1996 murder of Marjorie Nugent in Carthage.
He was sentenced to life in prison for the murder, but was released on bond last year based on information about sexual abuse in his past.
Tiede will appear in court one more time before the trial in march for a pre-trial hearing.
