(CNN) - A new item of clothing aimed at children has many parents hopping mad.
It's a padded swimsuit top marketed towards young girls. The "Ashley Push Up" triangle bikinis are in the current spring line for Abercrombie Kids, a division of the company Abercrombie & Fitch which is known for its racy ads targeted at teens.
Many parents say the swimsuit is too sexy for children. And some experts say the clothing can even be dangerous. "I just don't think that there's a reason for seven-year-old girls to be worrying about having their body look good in stuff. They should be playing," explained Allie Ellis, a mom who disapproves of the top.
"It gets young girls to think about themselves in sexual ways before that's developmentally appropriate," added Gail Dines, feminist and anti-pornography activist.
Abercrombie & Fitch released a statement noting it's removed the words "push-up" from the description of the top on its website. But the padded tops are still available.
