2 dead in North Texas plane crash in near Granbury High School

GRANBURY (WFAA) – Two people died when a small plane crashed and caught fire after take-off at Granbury Municipal Airport, south of Dallas.

The plane crashed just off the runway, across the street from Granbury High School, according to the Hood County News, at about 7 p.m.

The two people killed were the only people aboard, according to the FAA. Their identities have not been released.

A freshman football game between Granbury and Burleson was in progress at Granbury High's Pirate Stadium at the time of the crash. There were no reported injuries.

FAA investigators in en route and the NTSB has been notified of the crash, FAA spokesperson Lynn Lunsford said.
