The Upshur County Sheriff's office announced charges in connection with the death of a Longview woman whose body was found in Upshur County on April 1.
Rachael Rhoads' body was found in a wooded area off Farm-to-Market 726, just north of Highway 154 in Upshur County. Rhoads had been reported missing from Longview on March 31.
Longview Police were notified by the Bedford Police Department on April 3 that they had stopped a car determined to belong to Rhoads, but released the men in the car since at that time there was no report of the vehicle being stolen.
Longview Police and the Upshur County Sheriff's office quickly changed the status of the vehicle to stolen since Rhoads' death was ruled a homicide.
With assistance from the Bedford Police Department and the Texas Rangers, the vehicle and suspects were relocated and arrested.
Enough evidence was collected from the arrest to charge the two suspects, identified as Carlton Grant and Lindsey McFadden with capital murder.
