LONGVIEW, Texas — Brookshire Grocery Co. is one step closer to opening a Fresh by Brookshire's location in Longview.
The grocery giant held a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday for the new store, which will be located at the northwest corner of North Eastman Road and North Fourth Street.
The new location is expected to be 10,000 square feet larger than its Tyler counterpart.
Brookshire Grocery Co. CEO Brad Brookshire attended the groundbreaking. He said that there's been a demand for a new location in Longview.
"We heard many, many times that we need to put one in Longview," Brookshire said. "We feel very confident it's going to be a good store."
Construction is expected to begin soon, according to the company, with a projected opening date some time next year.
