BULLARD, Texas — A grease fire severely damage the Tacos El Guero Gil's food truck in Bullard.
A friendly competitor, DJ's Kitchen stepped up and are using their food truck to help raise funds for the Jimenez family.
"DJ's kitchen came to help us today, they told us you should have a fundraiser," said Johana Vega, Taco El Guero Gil.
DJ's Kitchen sold their signature plates tonight from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. for $10. All the proceeds will go to the Tacos El Guero Gil so they can repair their food truck.
"We have actually lost a house to a fire before, so we know how hard it is to start over and especially if it’s a business, I can only imagine what he’s going through," said Jamie Doran, DJ’S Kitchen owner. "So we had the opportunity to help and that’s what we’re going to do."
Although the taco truck won’t be back on the road soon, the family will continue their Sunday tradition of selling tamales, but they will have to be ordered in advance either over the Internet or by phone.
