Mechele Mills with the Better Business Bureau said during the holiday season, scammers are trying to gain access to your money and information but BBB is sharing some tips that can help many stay safe from scammers.

- Misleading social media ads
- Gift exchanges on social media
- Holiday themed apps which may contain malware
- Fake text messages which claim you've been hacked
- Free gift cards
- Fake holiday jobs
- Lookalike websites
- Fake charities
- Fake shipping notifications
- Bogus advent calendar ads
- Too good to be true deals on your top wish list
- Puppy scams
