Longview's MLK Day March back on despite winter weather

The Longview Area Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance decided to move forward with the march despite anticipated winter weather on Jan. 15.

LONGVIEW, Texas — EDITOR'S NOTE: The video above aired in Jan. 2018. **Previously reported, the MLK Jr. Day Parade was cancelled, this is incorrect. The event cancelled was the MLK Jr. Day March on Jan. 15.

Longview's Martin Luther King Jr. Day March is back on despite inclement weather forecasted for next Monday.

The Longview Area Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance decided to move forward with original scheduling for the march at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 15.

Since there will be freezing weather, individuals interested in participating can march or drive a vehicle from Broughton Park toward Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

There will be an Interfaith Service proceeded right after the march.

The MLK Parade continues to be scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 13 at 10 a.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
