Two Texas cities made the top 10 in a list of best cities to visit for Thanksgiving, according to report

The report ranked everything from weather forecast to the number of pumpkin patches per capita.

DALLAS — Gobble gobble, y'all! 

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and according to a recent study by WalletHub, the place to be for the holiday is right here in Texas.

WalletHub compared the 100 largest cities on 18 different metrics, which made up the following categories: affordability, Thanksgiving Celebrations, weather forecast, giving thanks and safety and accessibility. Some of the metrics in these categories include pumpkin patches per capita, cost of Thanksgiving dinner, Thanksgiving temperature vs. average temperature, etc.

With all scores assigned and ranked, Dallas came out as the No. 5 best place to go for Thanksgiving on their list and was the first Texas city listed. Other Texas cities in the top 20 were San Antonio (No. 7), Houston (No. 15), and Irving (No. 19).

According to WalletHub's study, the average person will spend $321 over the five-day Thanksgiving period. Americans also spend about $1.2 billion on Thanksgiving turkeys each year, according to the report.
