The East Texas Food Bank opened a new resource center in Longview.
The resource center is located at the 2900 Signal Hill Drive. This location is at the heart of several high need neighborhoods where 28% of residents, nearly 20,000 people, currently live below the federal poverty line, ETFB said.
Several services will be available to the community such as help with applying to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), medical screenings offered through healthcare providers and other social services.
The community will be able to pick nutritious food items at their "Healthy Food Pantry."
The food pantry and community resources will be open from Tuesday to Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. It will also be open on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
