Bullard ISD opens state-of-the-art athletic complex

A new baseball field, softball field, batting cages, press boxes, snack shack and 12 tennis courts headline Bullard ISD’s state of the art complex.

BULLARD, Texas — Bullard ISD has finally unveiled its new athletic complex for East Texans to enjoy in full force.

"Oh it’s very exciting. This has been a two to three year process," Scott Callaway, athletic director for Bullard ISD said.

A new baseball field, softball field, batting cages, press boxes, snack shack and 12 tennis courts headline Bullard ISD’s state of the art complex.

"We’re just thankful to our community for supporting the school district and having a vision for the future," Callaway said.

It’s a project that’s been in the works since it was approved back in May of 2022, and it’s a part of a larger plan to make numerous additions to Bullard ISD.

The district has seen tremendous growth in the last few years, and now the community is helping to accommodate that growth.

"Man it is a blessing more than anything. It is a blessing to be a part of Bullard, to be a part of Bullard ISD community, I’m thankful every day to be the superintendent, just grateful for that. Mostly grateful because we just have outstanding kids and an outstanding community. The process was a long process but it was needed, and it led to where we are," Dr. Jack Lee, Bullard ISD superintendent said.

This is an exciting, long-awaited day for the Panthers, and now the coaches can’t wait to get on the field and start winning.

"Well obviously I’m excited for game one. We play Mount Pleasant on February the 19th, that’s a Monday. That game’s going to have the feel of a state championship game," Robert Ellis, head baseball coach for Bullard High School said.

"It’ll just help us grow as a program and I think we’ll, our numbers will even get bigger, so. And now the fans can be here, we don’t have to travel everywhere we go, we can play home matches, we can have a home facility which is awesome," Josh Boyd, head tennis coach for Bullard High School said.
