TYLER ISD PRESS RELEASE:
The John Tyler High School and Robert E. Lee High School graduation ceremonies will take place at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium. Both graduation ceremonies will be aired live on TISD-TV Suddenlink Channel 19 and the district website, tylerisd.org. DVD copies of the ceremonies are also available for purchase through TISD-TV. DVD order forms are located on the website at tylerisd.org/graduation.
John Tyler High School will graduate Friday, June 3 at 7:30 p.m.
Robert E. Lee High School will graduate Saturday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m.
With the chance of rain in the forecast, the District encourages parents and the community to pay close attention to campus websites for the latest information regarding contingency plans. Any changes to the graduation plans will also be communicated via the District website, local media outlets, TISD-TV, Blackboard Connect phone messaging system, Facebook and Twitter.
In the event of inclement weather, contingency schedules are as follows:
John Tyler High School Contingency Plans:
- Saturday, June 4, 10:00 a.m. - Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium
- Saturday, June 4, 2:00 p.m. - Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium
- Saturday, June 4, 4:00 p.m. - Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium
Robert E. Lee High School Contingency Plan:
- Sunday, June 5. Time and location will be dependent on information below.
In the event that John Tyler and/or Robert E. Lee graduations are cancelled due to inclement weather on Friday & Saturday, efforts will be made to hold the ceremonies at Rose Stadium on Sunday. The Tyler Junior College Wagstaff Gymnasium will be the alternate location if inclement weather continues.
If only ONE graduation ceremony is required on Sunday, June 5 it will be held at 2:00 p.m.
If BOTH graduation ceremonies are required on Sunday, June 5:
- John Tyler High School at 2:00 p.m.
- Robert E. Lee High School at 6:00 p.m.
Any decision to move graduation to Wagstaff Gym will be made by 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Admittance to the gym will be by ticket only.
