WHITEHOUSE, Texas —
East Texans will be celebrating Mahomes' Super Bowl win with the Kansas City Chiefs for years to come, especially his hometown Whitehouse.
With just three years in the league, Mahomes is now the youngest quarterback to win a league MVP award and Super Bowl title.
His road to the Super Bowl has brought national recognition to his small town.
"We've had people come from all over,” Shawna Driggers with the Whitehouse Area Chamber of Commerce said. “We've had people call from all over."
Several businesses received national attention, like the Daily Fix Nutrition, 1st Class Design and Dancewear, and Whitehouse Flowers and Gifts.
"For being a small business in a small town, is really priceless with all the national attention we've gotten," Rebecca Priester owner of Whitehouse Flowers and Gifts said.
Whitehouse Flowers and Gifts has sold out of Mahomes inspired shirts and most of their merchandise but is still selling earrings and several other items.
1st Class Design and Dancewear designed a shirt for Mahomes' Super Bowl victory.
Graphic designer for 1st Class Design and Dancewear, Zach Crouch says people from other states have ordered shirts.
“California, Washington State, we've actually gotten quite a few from Kansas City as well,” Crouch said.
Shirts from 1st Class Design is accepting orders online or through the stores' Facebook page.
Daily Fix Nutrition has permanently added their Arrowhead drink to its menu.
"There's actually gold on the bottom and red on the top which is the perfect colors for the chiefs," owner of the Daily Fix Nutrition, Sarah Fedder, said. “People are coming in every single day and they're calling it so many different names like I need that Patrick Mahomes tea, or that Mahomie Tea. Even to see the community just brought together people that aren’t necessarily Chiefs fans, they’re just Mahomes fans.
