GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — As the saying goes, everything is bigger in Texas, and in Grand Prairie a massive water adventure proves it.
Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark is the newest water park under a single retractable roof and features the longest indoor action river in Texas.
Since opening in January of 2018, the park has attracted guests from around the world and was awarded the “Best of Dallas 2018 Critic's Pick” list from the Dallas Observer.
"So we're 80,000 square feet of indoor fun, we've been open about a year and a half in June," Kristy McCarthy Director of Public Relations said.
The indoor water park has a huge interactive children’s play area. There are also private cabanas, party rental space, and food on-site.
"So we're weatherproof, that's amazing," McCarthy said. "We have a retractable roof so we can be indoor-outdoor."
The water park is for the whole family to enjoy, it can also be a fun spot to visit this Memorial Day weekend.
"It can truly be that family or any age destination, McCarthy said. "Because we have a full-service bar and grill, a lazy river, the arcade and [we] have an amazing amenity package for anybody."
You can also enjoy select mornings for Tiny Tot Time, an activity for children aged five and under.
While you can slide on down dozen of their water slides. The park recently opened its new attraction 'Epic Waves,' and it is Texas-sized.
"The outdoor space, 10,000 square feet that you could just be out there, you would probably spend all day out there as well not even coming here," McCarthy said. "You can sunbathe which is a really cool attraction. So if you don't want to be at the crazy huge outdoor parks, you can be in here and go outside to our wave pool."
Another attraction features a FlowRider surf simulator.
The FlowRider is the world’s first and most famous surf simulating machine, there are over 220 FlowRiders installed all over the world. Epic Waters is home to a FlowRider Double (a 2-lane attraction), making it the largest in North Texas.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so excited, it's FlowaPalooza, it's a 3-day festival," McCarthy said. "So the festival events are free. All the stuff that we are activating on the lawn, cornhole tournaments, goat yoga, and some really cool stuff."
The water park is kicking off the summer with FlowaPalooza, a family-friendly celebration for flowboarding enthusiasts and waterpark fans. The festival is set for Thursday, June 6 through Saturday, June 8.
The festival will highlight the FlowRider U.S. FLOW Tour Championships, where amateur and professional flowboarders will compete for points toward their FLOW Tour/ Regional and National Rankings and an invitation to the 2019 World Flowboarding Championships.
Epic Water Indoor Water park will be open daily.
The water park is located just off President George Bush Turnpike, SH 161, near the intersection of Arkansas Lane at EpicCentral in Grand Prairie.
