TYLER, Texas — There are plenty of entertainment options in East Texas, but a renovation has breathed new life into an old family favorite..
Times Square Grand Slam has officially opened its doors as an entertainment complex. The 65,000 square-foot facility is home to laser tag, bowling, arcade games and more.
It is a space owner Howard Charba says has been a long time coming.
“About 10 or 15 years ago I looked at it, thought about it, was very interested in doing it but the timing just wasn’t right," Charba said. "But it was something I thought Tyler needed for years.”
The facility officially launched the new changes Feb. 23, and the customers have been rolling in ever since.
“Tyler has been very kind to us," Charba said. "That’s about all I can say. They have been very kind and this is our chance to maybe repay them a little bit.”
Not only is the center a hub for family friendly fun, but it is also an economy booster for the city of Tyler.
Charba says so far, he has hired more than 200 employees to staff the entertainment complex and he is still looking to hire more.
