CBS19 WEATHER: Chance for rain showers overnight, nothing severe

Check out the latest forecast from the CBS19 Weather Experts.

TYLER, Texas — Good evening, East Texas!

Gray and muggy headed into Monday night. There is a tornado watch in West Texas. Severe thunderstorms that form in the Concho Valley are expected to head into southern Oklahoma. That means East Texas won't see severe weather overnight but we may have some occasional rain showers with an embedded rumble of thunder possible. A weak front will move across the region Tuesday. This will bring a chance for hit-n-miss showers and a few thunderstorms through the afternoon. Don't expect a big cool down behind the front. There won't be much change in terms of temperatures or humidity. We'll have to wait until Thursday for the bigger change to arrive.

Here's your forecast:

TONIGHT:

Gray and muggy headed into Monday night. There is a tornado watch in West Texas. Severe thunderstorms that form in the Concho Valley are expected to head into southern Oklahoma. That means East Texas won't see severe weather overnight but we may have some occasional rain showers with an embedded rumble of thunder possible. Otherwise expect a cloudy sky with nighttime temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s.

TOMORROW:

A weak front works its way into East Texas. This front is arriving from the Pacific northwest so it's not bringing a big change when it comes to temperature and humidity. Still there could be a few showers or even a thunderstorm. At this time, the severe weather threat for much of East Texas is very low Tuesday. Tuesday's afternoon high temperature will reach the upper 70s and low 80s across the area.
