CBS19 WEATHER: Moonlit and marvelous night ahead

Check out the latest forecast from the CBS19 Weather Experts.

TYLER, Texas — Good evening,

Believe it not this is the last full week of April. May is just nine days away and so far East Texas has experienced a somewhat quiet severe weather season. But this week, spring storms may finally arrive. In the meantime, expect some great weather through the middle of the week before humidity returns to set the stage for more rain and thunderstorms for the final weekend of the month.

Here's your forecast:

TONIGHT:

High pressure dominates the forecast tonight and that means a fair sky, a light wind and cool temperatures. We'll see overnight lows fall into the upper 40s and low 50s across East Texas.

TOMORROW:

It's another day of sun!  Sunshine will lift afternoon temperatures into the upper 70s.  It will be another nice day in the piney woods, the humidity will be held in check one more day.  Winds will be out of the south from 8 to 15 mph.

LATER THIS WEEK:

Rain and thunderstorms are back in the forecast at the end of the week.  New today, there is a risk of severe weather for our northwestern counties on Friday. We appear to stay mostly clear on Saturday, but a severe risk returns on Sunday.  This threat area currently lies to our northwest, but there is a chance a strong storm may make its way into our area.  Keep checking back with us for the latest.
