CBS19 WEATHER: Early spring chill hangs around tonight

Check out the latest forecast from the CBS19 Weather Experts.

TYLER, Texas — Good evening, East Texas,

A cool middle of the week turns warmer as we head toward the weekend. Wednesday's High temperature in Tyler topped out at 68, Longview was cooler with a high in the mid-60s and Lufkin officially recorded a high of 67. All of these marks fell well short of the record highs that were set back in 2020. This evening will remain pleasant but clouds will increase and we are watching a batch of showers and a few thunderstorms in Central Texas. These are forecast to run into the dry air over East Texas and fall apart.

Here's your forecast:

TONIGHT:

There is a small chance for a weak shower near Palestine or to south closer to Crockett. Otherwise, expect a partly cloudy sky with a light wind and chilly overnight lows. Temperatures will fall into the low to mid-40s across East Texas.

TOMORROW:

Grab your flower print pants, because we are taking it back to the 70s tomorrow.  Sunrise temperatures will start of in the 40s, but the afternoon will make it to the 70s under sunny skies.  This is the start of a warming trend that will take us to the 80s by the end of the week.

EASTER WEEKEND:

As we look ahead to the holiday weekend, temperatures continue to warm through the end of the week. By Friday, high temperatures will rise into the upper 70s, and by Sunday, morning lows will be in the low 60s and make it into the low 80s by the afternoon. While clouds increase over the weekend and will be mostly cloudy by Sunday, rain looks to stay out of the forecast. It will be the perfect weather to wear your Sunday bests and hunt for the Easter eggs outside!
