CHAPEL HILL, Texas — The Smith County Fire Marshal’s Office has released the identities of a mother and daughter who were killed in a Chapel Hill house fire last week.
According to officials, the deceased have been identified as Alejandra Mayorga Chavez, 66 and Herlinda Beltran, 35.
The Smith County Fire Marshal's Office responded to the blaze, around 6:15 p.m., in the 10800 block of County Road 384.
Smith County crews were assisted by firefighters from Chapel Hill, Jackson Heights and Winona to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
