Pedestrian found on roadway, in critical condition

Duckett was crossing South Street on foot when he was struck by a southbound vehicle. Immediately after, he was hit by a second southbound vehicle. The first vehicle stopped and called 911, while the second vehicle left the scene.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Nacogdoches Police Department is investigating an auto-pedestrian hit and run accident that occurred Saturday around 2:47 a.m. 

According to Nacogdoches Police Department, officers were called to the 3200 block of South Street for a possible accident and a person laying in the roadway. 

The man found in the road was identified as Brandon Duckett, 23, of Nacogdoches.

Following the investigation, it was determined that Duckett was crossing South Street on foot when he was struck by a southbound vehicle. Immediately after, he was hit by a second southbound vehicle. 

According to Nacogdoches PD, The first vehicle stopped and called 911, while the second vehicle left the scene. 

Duckett is currently at Nacodogches Memorial Hospital in critical condition. 

The accident is still under investigation. Any person who might have been a witness, or knows anything about the accident is asked to contact the Nacogdoches Police Traffic Division at 936-559-2639.
