CAMP COUNTY — Jimmie Allen Cooper, a 46-year-old Winnsboro man, died after losing control of his vehicle at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday on Highway 11, just west of Pittsburg
According to DPS, a preliminary crash investigation revealed that Cooper was heading west on Highway 11 when he failed to negotiate a curve and drifted off the side of the road.
Cooper then over-corrected and veered his vehicle sharply to the left, causing it to go into a side-skid and overturn.
His vehicle then left the south side of the road, ejecting Cooper from the vehicle.
Cooper died on the scene and was taken to a Pittsburg funeral home.
DPS is currently investigating the crash.
