UPDATE: UPDATE: ETX gang member on Texas 10 Most Wanted List arrested

AUSTIN — UPDATE: According to the Nacogdoches Police Department, Jack Earl Sterns, Jr. was arrested Wednesday afternoon at a home on the 1900 block of Coleman Street in Nacogdoches.

Nacogdoches Police officers made the arrest after Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers got a tip on his location.

Jack Earl Sterns Jr., a 27-year-old gang member with ties to Nacogoches County, has been added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list, and a cash reward of up to $7,500 is now being offered for information leading to his arrest.

According to DPS, Sterns has been wanted by law enforcement since December 2017.

He has a long criminal history with charges ranging from aggravated assault with a deadly weapon to deadly conduct.

Authorities say that Sterns has tattoos on his abdomen, back, chest, both arms and right leg, and scars on his abdomen, back, left leg and right forearm.

He may also be known as "Jay Jay."

To be able to get cash rewards, tipsters MUST give information to law enforcement in one of the following ways:

  • Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
  • Text the letters "DPS" – followed by your tip – to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
  • Give a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
  • Submit a Facebook tip by clicking the "SUBMIT A TIP" link (under the "About" section).
  • Submit a tip through the DPS Mobile App. The app is currently available for iPhone users on the Apple App Store and for Android users on Google Play.

All tips are anonymous and tipsters will be given a tip number instead of using a name.
