KILGORE, Texas — The Kilgore Police Department arrested a recent parolee Friday night after a traffic stop reportedly turned up methamphetamine
According to the KPD, they were previously made aware the individual, who had only been on parole for four months, was dealing meth in the city.
Police say they located a small amount of meth, so the parolee was re-arrested. During a subsequent search, the KPD says investigators noticed part of the vehicle's interior had been altered.
Upon closer inspection, officials found a large quantity of meth and scales hidden inside.
"It was apparent this recent parolee had not turned over a new leaf, but was in fact dealing this poison on our streets as we had heard," police said in a statement.
The KPD says the parolee "was kind enough to keep his parole officer's business card in his wallet," so jail staff alerted the PO of his whereabouts for the night.
