East Texas couple using podcasting to explain alternative ways to heal

"We want to show people that there's more than one way to make yourself better."

TYLER, Texas —

There is a variety of ways people seek medical treatment. Healing comes in forms of technology, therapy and medication.

An East Texas couple is encouraging people to find healing in alternative ways.

Lee and Olivia Hardt-Griffith seem like the everyday couple. Lee, is a Interventional Pain Management Physician. Olivia, is a Shamar Practitioner. However, in-between their busy schedules, they found a commonality that could potentially impact the East Texas community.

"If you work together as a team, and you get a little bit of help from both sides, that it makes you better faster and actually improves your overall well-being," Lee said.

At first glance, they could seem like a regular couple doing a irregular thing. After practicing for more than 12 years as a physician, Lee got an idea.

"I have a lot of ideas," Lee explained. "And this one came out of the shower."

He decided to explain an additive to relieving pain through a podcast called The Doctor & The Shaman.

"We want to show people that there's more than one way to make yourself better," Lee said.

Together, Olivia and Lee, host a podcast explaining various forms of healing through techniques like meditation and yoga.

"So with our own experiences. That's what started the journey and then with our client and patient experiences and how combining the two made the patient or client better," Olivia said. "That's what really made us want to get this information out there."

One episode at a time, they are hoping for transformations.

"[We want to] help them feel better, be happier, live better lives have more integrity."
